CREATING OBJECTS FOR INSTALLATIONS AND PUBLIC SPACES
Kathleen Smith is a Lincolnshire-based multimedia artist and educator known for community-focused public art, large-scale murals, and metal sculpture. Working across the county, her projects often focus on environment and wildlife, with notable work including the "On The Beach" mural (2023) and various sculptures for public trails, such as for the St Barnabas Heart Trail, Snowdogs by the Sea in Brighton and the Dog's Trail in Cardiff. Currently she has completed work for 26 art trails around the country.

Public Art & Murals: She has created significant public artworks in Lincolnshire, including murals in Grimsby and metal sculptures for trails in Gainsborough and Grimsby, most notably, the murals "On The Beach" in Cleethorpes.

Community Engagement: As an artist working with a range organisations but mainly Creative Start, she facilitates art projects, workshops, and installations. This includes teaching community members skills like dyeing, printing, and piercing aluminum, as seen in the Elsom Seeds project.

Mediums: Her practice is diverse, ranging from painting and illustration to metalwork, sculpture, and, in some cases, incorporating 3D printing.

Residencies: In 2023-2024, she served as the Artist in Residence at Willoughby Road Allotment in Boston.
Kathleen Smith's work often serves to enhance public spaces and encourage engagement with local, natural, and industrial themes, as shown in her collaborations with organisations like Creative Start working on Paint the Town Proud and the Lincoln Museum.
